ABOUT UNDER ONE SKY
Under One Sky began at Christmas 2012, when Mikkel Iversen and a few colleagues at Dignity Entertainment decided to take a walk around Central London to meet with homeless people on the street.
Originally simply with the intention to engage with the people on the streets and make them feel human, the initiative soon grew to include offering food as well as toiletries, hats & gloves, socks and foil blankets.
Every year since, more volunteers have joined the Under One Sky family. By 2018, the collective had grown to over 500 volunteers and Under One Sky Collective was registered as a non-profit organisation.
In 2019, new initiatives were started in Cambridge (UK) and Madrid, with further groups planned in Brighton, Berlin and Paris. By the end of the year, the UOS collective had supported more than 4000 people. With considerably more funds raised then in any previous year, we were able to organise 3 winter events in London, 2 in Cambridge and 1 in Madrid.
In 2020, during the CV19 lockdown, Under One Sky is feeding around 250 homeless people each day. With nowhere left to turn while most businesses are closed and London – and the world – has come to a complete standstill, UOS is one of the few organisations still out there providing loving support and delicious food. By 20 April, we had served 3500 meals.
