Yesterday was a day of big numbers. Since we started this initiative we have now served more than 15,000 meals and had even more conversations. To put that into perspective…it is equivalent to having one conversation with a homeless friend every day for the next 41 years.

We also crossed the line on £140,000 funds raised since the start our 2019 winter campaign to this point – more than 2200 people have donated to us which is incredible.

Last night the Kings Cross team showed that with the right spirit you can make a huge difference out there. We already knew from the day before that Fernando desperately needed a wheelchair as he has a really bad leg. On the day, we thought we had one but it fell through. Fernando was expecting us to bring one so he was left very disappointed. To make matters worse both his legs were now in a bad state with him unable to move or go to the bathroom.

The team went to UCL Hospital to ask for a wheelchair but were turned down. They then tried to convince Fernando to come to A&E but he preferred to see his doctor today. During all this, the team had put a call out on Facebook for a wheelchair. Bingo…someone got in touch to offer a wheelchair for pickup in Hackney.

Rando went to Hackney, picked up the wheel chair and made Fernando a very happy man very late last night. The picture above shows Fernando with his new wheelchair.

What a night journey and what an incredible team effort. Total respect*1000!!!
