Making a Difference!

Janet Hoare, a music teacher from Nottinghamshire started making masks for her family when medical masks were in short supply. Her 10 year old Granddaughter asked her to make some masks for her school teachers who were looking after the children of key workers. In no time at all, friends and friends of friends asked Janet if they could buy masks from her. Before she knew it she was making masks all day!
Since lockdown Janet hasn’t been able to teach music so she used her time in her sewing room instead. After seeing the work Under One Sky were doing to support the homeless she decided she could help by donating the proceeds of her masks to the charity.

Big shout out to Brian’s friends John & Rita Nichols and residents of Russel Road in the Borough of Barnet for coming together and donating clothes, sanitary goods and funds to UOS to help our friends on the streets.

Fred, one of our regular volunteers, dropped of a delivery of shoes a few days ago. Not just a few… there are 70 pairs. Fred has been cycling around his local hood collecting all these shoes. That is just an astounding spirit of compassion to bring to the table.
As we all know shoes is one of the most valuable items of clothing to our homeless friends. Huge respect!
