Volunteers Week – 1 to 7 June 2020

In celebration of UK Volunteer Week, we would like to thank and honour the 500 Skywalkers who have joined the Under One Sky family in the wake of lockdown.  We simply couldn’t help our homeless friends without your support and amazing contribution.  

Everyone within Under One Sky is making a huge positive impact, from our sandwich makers, drivers, clothes sorters, logistics team, marketing team and filmmakers, to those going out each day to deliver food and friendship.

We think you are all simply the best!

Alpa has been volunteering with Under One Sky since 2015, and was one of the first to mobilise when lockdown started.

2 June 2020

Monica joined the Skywalker army in early April, having seen a post on Facebook which stirred her into action.

3 June 2020

Hash came to help us first as a driver, ferrying supplies to our teams on the streets, and quickly went on to become a Skywalker.

4 June 2020

Sarita has been with us since the early days of our emergency food initiative, and is one of our most regular Skywalkers, consistently showing up for our friends living on the streets.

Sam is a furloughed hospitality worker who’s been leading our Embankment/Soho team regularly since he joined the Skywalkers.

6 June 2020

Penny ‘Poppins’ earned her nickname thanks to her magic trolley full of surprises for our homeless friends. Penny is one of our most consistent Skywalkers with 39 walks since April.

7 June 2020

The Springbok Girls jumped into action as Skywalkers early on into our initiative. The need for clean clothing became so acute, they decided to set up a clothing distribution hub that provides all our teams with tailor made clothing parcels for our homeless friends.
