It was a busy night out on the streets again and our efforts to provide clothing to our homeless friends is really taking shape thanks to the efforts of The Springbok Girls Samantha and Charmaine. This is a serious need that we are starting to cover methodically.

In conversation with a homeless man Sam A discovered he was suicidal. Emergency services were called but the man went awol. After working with the police, the ambulance crew and the Covent Garden security team he was found at 10.15pm. We hope this man is now getting the support he needs. Very well done to Sam and the rest of the them…you may just have saved a life.

Meanwhile our homeless friends who we have helped into accommodation were enjoying the peace of mind being looked after brings. Adhering to social distancing they were in the park throwing frisbee.

Practical note. If you bring items (books, toiletries, clothing) to events then please take undistributed items back home unless it will be easy to carry for next day’s team. Our team sizes are set to match the amount of supplies on the official packing list. Therefore we need to be careful that we don’t have a build up of supplies not on the list. We know you all bring them with the best intentions, just make sure you don’t over burden your team mates taking over the next day.
